About Jakoda’s Super Saves

Jakoda’s Super Saves is a free online soccer goalkeeper game built around a simple challenge: stop as many shots as possible and build the biggest score you can.

The project started when my 9-year-old daughter Jakoda asked if I could make a game for her where she was the goalkeeper. That simple idea became a mobile-first arcade game designed to be easy for younger players to understand while still giving more competitive players scores and leaderboards to chase.

Players control Jakoda in front of the goal and react to soccer balls travelling toward her from the field. Successful saves add points, while consecutive saves build streaks and scoring bonuses. Special balls including golden, fire and rainbow balls create additional scoring opportunities and keep each round unpredictable.

One of the most important parts of the game is Junior Mode. It gives younger players more reaction time and a forgiving experience so they can continue making saves, rack up a score and have a genuine chance of appearing on the leaderboard.

Players can also choose Classic, 60 Sec Rush, Endless and Daily Challenge modes. Each changes the pace and difficulty, giving players several different ways to chase a personal best.

Jakoda’s Super Saves includes global leaderboards, remembered keeper names and worldwide statistics showing how many saves players have made across the game.

The game was designed primarily for phones and tablets with large touch controls for moving left, staying in the centre or moving right. Keyboard controls are also available for desktop players.

Jakoda’s Super Saves is also an installable Progressive Web App, allowing players to add it to their device and launch it more like a standalone mobile game.

The visual design centres on Jakoda herself, including custom cover artwork and an in-game goalkeeper character inspired by her. Future versions of the game are also being shaped by Jakoda’s own playtesting and ideas.

That makes Jakoda’s Super Saves more than another browser game. It is an ongoing father-and-daughter project built from her original idea and developed around what she thinks will make the game more fun.
