About Darcy's Big Potato

Darcy's Big Potato is a free interactive story adventure where the player decides what happens next. What begins as an ordinary day at school quickly becomes very strange when an enormous potato appears and Darcy has to work out what to do.

Instead of following one fixed story, players are regularly given different choices. They might run, hide, investigate, talk to the potato, search for useful items or make a completely ridiculous decision just to see what happens. Different choices lead to different scenes, discoveries and endings.

The game includes 12 endings to discover, giving players a reason to replay the adventure and try completely different paths. Some endings are easy to find while others require particular decisions, collected items or hidden discoveries earlier in the story.

Players also earn points as they progress. Clever decisions, discoveries, hidden potatoes, challenges and completed adventures can increase the final score. Score streaks and bonus opportunities make it possible to improve with repeated play, while daily, weekly and all-time leaderboards add friendly competition.

Darcy can collect useful objects during the story, and some items unlock choices that would otherwise not be available. This means a decision made several scenes earlier can completely change what becomes possible later in the adventure.

Short spelling, reading and maths Brain Boost challenges are mixed into the story without turning the game into a traditional educational quiz. The aim is to encourage younger players to read carefully, recognise words, think about decisions and experiment with different outcomes while still keeping the experience funny and entertaining.

There are also hidden potatoes and achievements to find throughout the game. Completing the ending collection, finding secrets and improving a high score adds another layer beyond simply reaching the end of the story.

Darcy's Big Potato was designed as a mobile-first browser game, so it can be played on phones, tablets and desktop computers without installing anything. It is also available as a Progressive Web App for players who want to add it to their device.

The project combines interactive storytelling, simple learning activities, collectables and arcade-style scoring into an accessible game designed around curiosity and replayability. The result is a deliberately silly adventure where choosing the unexpected option is often half the fun.
